Summer Camps Near You: Montclair Area Summer Camps Await

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Summer camp anyone? Games, arts and crafts, baseball, adventure trips, and snacks with friends are all part of the fun around Montclair.

Now is the time to make plans for summer camps as they fill up fast. All around Essex County there are some good camp options for kids. Here are a few.

YMCA of Montclair knows how to do summer camp. Camp at the Lake is for ages 5-14, New Adventures is for ages 3-7, and New Discoveries is for ages 4-9. There is also a Summer for Twos program for the little kids! Find more information here.

Steve & Kate's Camp offers flexibility and variety with lots of fun camps for ages 4-12. You can buy any number of day passes and use them any time. There's a media lab, performing arts, a sewing salon, a bakery, sports and rec, and more. The camp meets at Lacordaire Academy, 155 Lorraine Ave. in Montclair. Find more information here.

Montclair State University hosts iD Tech summer camps taught by tech "rock stars." There are camps for kids and teens in coding, game development, robotics, and design. This may have your child's name on it! Find out more here.

One River School of Art & Design Montclair has lots of camps for kids this summer, with a $100 discount available when you sign up for three camps. Motion comics, Street Art Painting with spray paint, and Manga Characters are just some of the great camp classes. Starting with kindergartners, classes are offered for all grades up to 12th. Surf and Turf Adventure Camp 2022 is ready to roll. Every week brings a new adventure. Drop off is at Edgemont Park, and the kids are off for a really fun day as they start boarding the bus at 8:45 a.m. Check out the adventures offered week by week for kids ages 9-15 here.
