“A letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service reported that he was delivering mail on Nassau Road when he was flagged down by one of the residents advising him that his postal truck had been broken into. Upon returning to his truck, he discovered that the passenger side window was broken, and the same door was ajar. Two trays of mail were stolen, as well as the letter carrier’s bagged lunch.”

A witness reported that he was inside of his home when he heard a loud bang. He told police it sounded like a “crowbar hitting the pavement.”

The witness went to his front door to look outside and saw a black hatchback – possibly a Mercedes Benz – parked directly in front of the mail truck. He told officers that a man dressed in all black threw an object into the car and got into the passenger side of the vehicle. The car then drove away in the direction of Valley Road.
