Three Charged in Connection to Geyer Family Center Robbery

On Dec. 1 multiple items were taken from the YMCA locker room. Police have made arrests based on further investigation of the situation.

Officers were dispatched to the YMCA Family Center located at 159 Glenridge Ave. on a report of multiple thefts, on Monday December 1.

According to police, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on that day, numerous members made complainants stating that someone removed personal items from their lockers. Further investigation by the officers led to three individuals being identified, arrested, and charged.

David Langley has been charged with conspiracy. Cherylneshia Ann and Shade Williams have both been charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and fraudulent use of credit cards. Bail for all three was orginally set at $50,000.

The continued police investigation however led to the discovery and seizure of the a loaded semi-automatic handgun and multiple items deemed stolen from thefts in Montclair and surrounding towns. As a result bail was increased for all three of the suspects and additional charges.

Langley is now also being charged with possession of handgun, possession of a defaced firearm, certain persons not to have weapons, police say. Bail was increased to $85,000.

Ann and Williams are now being charged with possession of handgun, possession of a defaced firearm. Their bail has been set at $70,000 bail.
