Tierney’s Tavern In Montclair Is Among ‘Bars Of The Year’: USA Today

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A popular tavern in Montclair has been named as one of America’s “Bars of the Year” by USA Today.

Tierney’s Tavern at 136 Valley Road in Montclair nabbed one of 27 spots on USA Today’s inaugural list, which was selected by the publication’s network of food writers across the nation. See the full list here.

What earned Tierney’s a spot on the list? Attractions include its vintage wooden architecture and secret-menu burgers. “Locals – from college kids to boomers – have gathered in the classic Irish bar for generations, often accompanied by family (and, sometimes, celebrities),” USA Today writes.

The Montclair venue is also well-known for hosting a wide range of music acts, and was the home of the “smallest liquor store in town.” Learn more about this local business here.
