Tribute To Iconic Rock Concert Raises $6K For Montclair Nonprofit

A famous concert featuring The Band was reenacted in Montclair at a fundraiser to benefit Toni's Kitchen.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A tribute to one of the most famous concerts in rock and roll history recently raised $6,000 to benefit a nonprofit in Montclair.

On Thanksgiving 1976, The Band played their final concert with songwriter and lead guitarist, Robbie Robertson, who passed away in August 2023. It was a concert that has since gone down in music history.

Last year, 50 North Jersey musicians came together to reenact “The Band’s Last Waltz” at a concert to benefit Toni’s Kitchen. The show – which raised $3,000 – saw an encore this year at the Montclair Art Museum. And this time, it doubled that amount, organizers said.
