Veteran Senior Helps Lead MKA Field Hockey
...Montclair resident all-around standout for Cougar stickers
Senior Julia Flocco is a 4-year standout and quad captain for the Montclair Kimberley Academy field hockey team this fall as Cougars seek their fifth straight prep tournament title, having won prep B crowns in 2021 and 2022, an 'A' tourney title in 2023, and another 'B' championship last fall with a win over Pennington in the final.
Flocco and fellow Montclair residents Maggie and Shea Murphy and Addie Goldstein of Glen Ridge are senior quad captains for coach veteran coach Injoo Han's Cougars who have began the season with a 4-3 record and look to make strong runs in both the Essex County Tournament and in the NJSIAA Non-Public state tournament.
Julia's brother Carl, a freshman at the University of Mississippi, was MKA's football quarterback last fall and their dad Dave, a former swimming coach, is the head of MKA's upper school.
