According to a statewide summary released on Sept. 1, there were 598,927 registered voters in the 11th district, including 220,435 Democrats, 159,038 Republicans, 1,741 Libertarians and 214,258 voters not affiliated with any party.

Sherrill didn’t waste any time celebrating, claiming victory at an election night party in Montclair, the town where she also turned in her own ballot – and had a post-election breakfast with her family at a local diner.

Thanking her campaign volunteers, supporters and the roster of local elected officials who endorsed her third Congress run – including Gov. Phil Murphy – Sherrill said it has been an honor to serve the people of the 11th district.

“These are uncertain times and to see so many people across the nation putting their faith in Democrats and our plan to bring down costs, protect rights and freedoms, and invest in the future of our kids and families, is incredibly hopeful for the future of our nation,” the congresswoman said.

“I look forward to continuing my mission to address our district’s most pressing issues while working to bring our nation together around our shared values,” Sherrill added.
