Body Found In Water Behind Morris Co. Industrial Complex ID'd
Officials say 64-year-old Valeri Malov was reported missing Sunday around 8:40 p.m. after not returning from a fishing trip.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A man whose body was found in the water behind an industrial complex in Morris County last weekend was identified late Wednesday as a Montville resident.
Valeri Malov, 64, from the Pine Brook section of Montville, was discovered by rescue officials in a body of water behind an industrial complex on Chapin Road, according to police.
Malov had gone fishing in the area on Sunday morning and never returned home, leading his family to file a missing persons report at 8:46 p.m., according to Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Malov’s fishing gear near the shoreline and, after searching the water, discovered his body.
The official cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

The Detective Bureau of the Montville Township Police Department, in conjunction with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, is continuing the investigation.
