NJ Manufacturer Recalls 3.2M Toys After 2 Deaths Reported
The manufacturer is aware of fatal incidents involving toys sold at Walmart, Amazon and other nationwide stores, federal officials said.

PINE BROOK, NJ - Pine Brook-based toy manufacturer Manufacturer Epoch Everlasting Play LLC is recalling 3.2 million children’s toys after some accessories were found to pose a choking hazard to children. Two deaths have been reported as of Thursday, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Recalled products include all Calico Critters flocked animal figures and sets sold with bottle and pacifier accessories. They were sold at Walmart, Amazon and other nationwide stores from Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2021, federal officials said.

The manufacturer is aware of three total incidents involving Calico Critters animal figures and sets, federal officials said. One deadly incident involved a 9-month-old in Japan in 2015; another incident involved a 2-year-old in New Mexico. It was not immediately clear what the nature of the third incident was, or how serious the injuries sustained were.
“Take the recalled bottle and pacifier accessories away from children immediately and contact Epoch Everlasting Play LLC for instructions on how to submit a photo of the recalled bottle and/or pacifier accessory along with contact information and confirmation of destruction to receive a free replacement accessory,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement.
