Traditional Memorial Day, Townwide Garage Sale This Week

Township Committee: Montville's governing body is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the municipal building. A look at new formats for the Montville Messenger could be among the issues that come up at the meeting.

Memorial Day: VFW Post 5481 will conduct its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday at the post on Changebridge Road. Commander Frank Warholic says the post holds its ceremony on May 30, the original date set for Memorial Day, rather than the barbecue weekend to give an important day to honor the veterans who have given their lives the respect it deserves.

Townwide Garage Sale: The 13th Annual Townwide Garage Sale, sponsored by the Women's Club and Montville Township, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. Maps are available online (PDF) and at the municipal building, public safety building and library.

New Jersey State Botanical Garden: Learn about the offered by the New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Montville Township Public Library.

The Art of Reiki: Veronique Holmes will explore Reiki in a free class at 1 p.m. Friday at the Montville Township Public Library.
