Towaco Lacrosse Player Bound for National Competition

Matt Sefcik of Towaco has been named a 2013 Brine National High School All-American and was selected to compete in the 2013 Brine National Lacrosse Classic next week in Maryland.

Sefcik, a goalie who will be a junior at the Morristown Beard School in September and is the son of Wendy and Steve Sefcik, will represent the Southern Region in the competition, scheduled for June 30 to July 3 in Boyds, Md., according to a National Lacrosse Classic news release.

The contest brings top high school players to one venue, where regional teams compete to become the 2013 National Champion.

There were 1,300 players nationwide who qualified to play in the competition and at the National All Star Lacrosse Academy. Selected players earned roster spots by attending regional tryouts.
