Turkey Crash Victim Feeling Better After Bird Smashed Through Windshield

Animal ended up alive in Pequannock woman's car on Route 80 Monday.

A woman who was greeted by an unexpected passenger when she was driving on Route 80 in Montville Monday and a live turkey crashed through her windshield is feeling better—better than the turkey—according to nj.com.

State police said the turkey was struck by a tractor trailer and then flew into the 34-year-old's Nissan. The bird's impact damaged half the windshield's glass and caused damage to the front hood of the car, according to Sgt. Adam Grossman. After the turkey came through the car, it flailed on the driver's lap as she attempted to stop the car, nj.com reported.

The woman suffered only minor scrapes in the incident.
