Two Moorestown Friends School (MFS) students—sisters Erin Chen (ninth grade) and Chloe Chen (seventh grade), of Lumberton—have earned spots in the prestigious South Jersey Band and Orchestra Directors Association (SJBODA) Honor Music Ensemble. Erin earned a spot in the cello section of the high school group while Chloe received a clarinet position in the middle school group. On Jan. 6, Erin performed at the 59th Annual Orchestra and 30th Annual String Ensemble Concert. Chloe is currently rehearsing for and will perform at the 36th Annual Junior High Band Concert on March 3 at Fernwood Middle School in Egg Harbor Township.
SJBODA organizes, promotes and implements the musical activities suggested and sponsored by the New Jersey Music Educators Association in the South Jersey area, and generally supports and fosters quality music education in the schools of South Jersey.
Brian Howard is the chair of the MFS Arts Department.
