Armed Home Invasion Under Investigation In Burlington Co.

The unknown suspect entered the victim's home and tried to rob them with a knife, police said.

EVESHAM, NJ — An unidentified suspect broke into an Evesham home and tried to rob the homeowner with a knife on Thursday, police said.

Authorities are still working to identify the suspect, who fled by car before officers arrived. Police shared surveillance images of the alleged suspect and getaway vehicle on Monday. (See the photos above.)

The attempted robbery happened around 9:35 p.m. Thursday in the Willow Ridge development, when a physical altercation in progress was reported to police.

Officers reached the scene within minutes, but the suspect had already fled, police said.

The homeowner told police that a person armed with a knife had entered their home and tried to rob them. But the suspect fled out the back door.

Evesham police created a perimeter and conducted a neighborhood search that included K-9 teams. But they determined that the suspect had entered a getaway vehicle and left the area.

The vehicle — a white four-door sedan — traveled to Buckley Lane onto Clinton Lane and then onto Willow Ridge Road, police said.

The suspect was described as a young male who is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and wore all dark clothing and a ski mask. The getaway vehicle was a white four-door sedan, police said.
