'Code Blue' Alert Until Thursday As Temperatures Drop In Burlington County
Families or individuals in need of shelter in Burlington County may call 2-1-1 during the Code Blue, which lasts until Thursday.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — With cold weather incoming, Burlington County officials have issued a "Code Blue" and are prepared to shelter any individuals or families who need a place to stay.
The Code Blue Weather Alert is from 7 p.m. Monday evening until 7 a.m. Thursday morning, as temperatures will drop below freezing at night. The county will provide short-term shelter in clean, safe locations so people do not have to be out in the cold.
Any resident in need of shelter during the Code Blue may call 2-1-1.

A storm system will reach the Garden State on Thursday, threatening to bring wintry conditions to New Jersey. Early indications predict the precipitation will hit the southwest to the northeast part of the state during the day Thursday with the storm potentially lasting into a portion of Friday, said NWS. Forecasters are warning that the storm is still a few days out and predictions could change. More updates will be released as the storm creeps closer.

“Temperatures are dropping so we’re encouraging all those in need of help to reach out,” said Commissioner Felicia Hopson, the liaison to the Burlington County Health Department and Burlington County Department of Human Services. “Our Code Blue sheltering program is ready and we don’t want anyone to have to spend the night outdoors or in unsafe conditions.”
