Ex-Eagle Hollis Thomas To Visit Moorestown Liquor Store
The former defensive tackle will sign bottles at the township's first liquor store grand opening in more than a century.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Former Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas is coming to Moorestown's first liquor store grand opening in more than a century.
Thomas will sign bottles of Bird Gang Spirits — limited-edition, Eagles-themed liquors — at Moorestown Super Buy Rite. The signing is set for 12-2 p.m. Oct. 12, during the store's grand-opening weekend.
Super Buy Rite, which opened in May, is Moorestown's first liquor store in at least a century. Before the township was established in 1922, the area was part of Chester Township, which banned liquor sales in 1915. Moorestown maintained the restrictions for nearly eight decades after national Prohibition ended in 1933.

Voters passed a repeal of the ban in a 2011 referendum. A decade later, the Township Council passed an ordinance that permitted liquor stores in limited areas.
Super Buy Rite is located at 75 S Lenola Rd. — a small building in Moorestown Mall's parking lot.

Thomas was a defensive stalwart for the Eagles from 1996-2005, accumulating 13.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and 384 tackles in that span.
