Familiar Faces Running for Moorestown BOE
Two sitting school board members will run for reelection this fall, while a third is opting out for personal reasons.

Two out of three incumbent members of the Moorestown Board of Education will seek to hold onto their seats this fall.
Vice President Kathy Goldenberg and Board Member Matthew Simeone will both run for reelection this year, seeking their third and second terms, respectively.
Both incumbents expressed a desire to guide the district as it continues to face difficult fiscal, and educational, choices.

“I’m just very committed to Moorestown Township public schools,” said Goldenberg. “There are difficult choices ahead, and I want to be part of the solution.”
Simeone expressed similar feelings, stating he was “very proud of” the difficult choices the board has made over the last few years.

“There are very unavoidable economic realities,” he said. “The bottom line is, the district still faces a number of difficult decisions … and I’m fully committed to that.”
Board Member Kevin O’Sullivan, who is also coming to the end of his first term, has chosen not to run however.
O’Sullivan said he decided not to seek reelection primarily for personal reasons. Between his day job, which entails a good deal of travel, and his duties on the school board, O’Sullivan found himself missing out on important family functions.
“It’s a huge time commitment,” he said of serving on the board.
The deadline to file petitions for both the school election and for independent candidates in the general election is 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
