MOORESTOWN, NJ — The nation will celebrate its 249th birthday on the Fourth of July, and Moorestown residents can celebrate with fireworks, festivals and other holiday fun in and around the township.

Independence Day falls on a Friday this year. But several communities across the region will kick off their celebrations before July 4, while others will keep the festivities going throughout the long weekend.

Moorestown 4th of July Parade

• What: Moorestown's annual celebration of national pride returns. This year's theme is "Let Freedom Ring."

• What: Riverton's annual parade will feature bikes, floats, classic automobiles and more. The parade is among several Fourth of July events in Riverton.
