Free Pets: Burlington County Will Clear The Shelters Aug. 17
The Burlington County Animal Shelter will waive adoption fees for animals at the shelter on Saturday, Aug. 17.
WESTAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Burlington County Animal Shelter will waive adoption fees on all animals in the shelter on Saturday, Aug. 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., county officials announced. It is part of the Clear the Shelters event, a nationwide adoption drive organized by NBC/Telemundo stations.
"Burlington County is very proud be participating in the Clear the Shelters event again this year," Burlington County Freeholder Daniel O’Connell, liaison to the Animal Shelter, said. “NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive to help find loving homes for animals in need. Since 2015, more than 250,000 pets nationwide have been adopted as a result of this wonderful program.”
Last year, the Burlington County Animal Shelter found 84 animals their forever homes during this one-day event.

NBC and Telemundo launched the Clear the Shelter event as a way to offer low cost or completely waived fees in order to help local families find the perfect pet for them at an affordable cost, or no cost at all.
