Guns, Jewelry Stolen from Home, Police Say

Theft — Someone stole four guns (two rifles, a shotgun and a handgun), jewelry and other miscellaneous items—valued at approximately $3,300—from a home on the unit block of Hunters Drive, police said. There was no sign of forced entry to the residence.

April 28
Burglary — Approximately $20 worth of cash and checks were stolen from a home on the 400 block of Timberline Drive between noon April 12 and 1 p.m. April 28, police said. There was no sign of forced entry.

May 3
Theft, 9:30-9:45 a.m. — A witness reported seeing about 30 shopping carts—valued at approximately $9,000—from the ShopRite on Nixon Drive being pushed down Route 73, according to police.
Criminal mischief, 6:30-6:45 p.m. — Someone smashed the window of a vehicle while it was being driven down Larchmont Boulevard in the area of Calderwood Lane, police said. Damage is estimated at $300.
May 4
Criminal mischief — A vandal broke the front window of Paterno Orthodontics using a large rock, causing an estimated $200 damage, police said. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. May 3 and 5 a.m. May 4.
Criminal mischief — Someone cut the tire of a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Belaire Drive sometime between 11:30 p.m. May 3 and 10:10 a.m. May, police said. Damage is estimated at $120.
Theft, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. — An iPhone and cash, valued at $380, were stolen from a locked gym locker in the men’s locker room at the YMCA on Centerton Road, police said.
Theft, 2:15-2:20 p.m. — A $400 iPhone was stolen from the basketball court at the YMCA after it was left unattended, police said.
Arrest (unlawful possession of a weapon) — Police arrested Jesse C. Shadel, 22, of the 600 block of South Church Street, for unlawful possession of pepper spray for law enforcement-use only, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.
May 6
Arrest (theft by deception) — Police arrested Edward J. Broome, 29, of the 800 block of Cooper Landing Road, Cherry Hill, after he tried to return an item to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive that was not purchased there, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Arrest (hindering) — Police arrested Jessica L. Jardel, 26, of the unit block of Stoney Run, Maple Shade, after she gave police false information in an attempt to hinder the apprehension of another at the Home Depot on Nixon Drive, according to a report. She was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Theft, 1-7:30 p.m. — Someone stole a UPS package from the front of a home on the 400 block on Kelham Court, police said. The package is valued at $34.
May 7
Stolen vehicle — Someone stole a $20,000 2013 Nissan Altima after renting it from the Avis Rental Car on Route 73, police said. The incident occurred between 12 p.m. April 7 and 12:54 p.m. May 7.
