The Whitesbog Preservation Trust will host a History Hike of Whitesbog Village from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Tour groups help decide the route of the tour based on their interests! Blueberry fields? Cranberry Bogs? Nature trails? Architecture? Women’s History? You help decide. These hikes will be outdoor only, please dress for the weather, bring water and appropriate shoes for sandy, grassy, sometimes muddy trails with roots. Bug spray is recommended and will be available on the porch if needed. Bring your mask and practice social distancing. The first Saturday of each month includes a Volunteer Service Day, History Hike and a Saturday Market from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Walk the Historic Village, learn about Whitesbog’s role in history and visit Suningive, the worker’s cottage and other museums, buildings and farm landscapes that speak to Whitesbog’s heritage. There is a $10 suggested donation per person. You can arrive between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to let the guide or shopkeeper at the General Store know you will be attending and pay your fee. Feel free to check out a hiking trail, drive around the cranberry bogs, shop at the General Store or relax in a rocking chair on the porch. Pick up a trail map at the Whitesbog Kiosk for a hike on your own. Walks take place in light rain. For more information, email whitesbogpreservationtrust@gmail.com or call 609-893-4646.
