"Our new Moorestown location is strategically positioned to serve the vibrant pickleball community in the area," said Chris Daiss, PickleRage's vice president of real estate. "The new club will be a fantastic addition to our portfolio, and we can't wait to welcome players from across the region."
Pickleball — which combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis — is the fastest-growing sport in the nation, The Economist wrote in 2021. The pandemic contributed to the pickleball boom, providing a socially distant outdoor activity when COVID-19 restrictions were in place. But its rapid popularity has also been attributed to its low cost of entry, ease of play and wide appeal to different ages and fitness levels, according to CNBC.
The sport's growth has been apparent in Moorestown, where Players Courtyard Pickleball Club — a 13-court indoor facility — opened last year. Moorestown Tennis Club, Church Street Recreation Center and Jeff Young Memorial Park also have pickleball courts, according to Pickleheads.
