Just Whistlin' Dixie
Looking for a dog, but don't want to deal with any of "that silly puppy stuff"? This "sweet senior" at the Burlington County Animal Shelter may be just what you're looking for.
Meet Dixie, a wonderful black lab who is great for hugging and petting. She's about 10 years old and around 70 pounds.
That gives Dixie two strikes—an older, black dog. Dogs with these two "strikes" are harder to find homes for. But Dixie has great qualities.
Dixie knows her stuff—she walks well on a leash, and will sit for a treat. Her tail never stops wagging. This is a really sweet senior dog that has years of love to give a new family. Her mellow temperament makes her a great companion for nearly every family.

Dixie seems to exhibit the best qualities of the beloved Labrador breed, is still very active, and she is done with all that silly puppy stuff. And if you scratch her on her lower back, she'll do that leg thing some dogs can't help doing!
Please come see her soon and make her part of your family! Refer to her number D-52357 when contacting the shelter at 609-265-5073.
