More than 80 people gathered at the park Tuesday night to honor Ross, according to KYW Newsradio. Loved ones and community members released balloons and laid out candles and flowers.

Ross's sister, Latisha Cosom, told Fox 29 she was "still in disbelief."

"He protected all of us," she told the news outlet. "I’m the oldest, and he’s the second oldest, and I’m just heartbroken."

Ross's mother, Latanya, said her son was the victim of "senseless gun violence" on a GoFundMe campaign established for Ross's funeral expenses.

Family members described Ross as a loving, humble person with a passion for rap music, according to Fox 29. Most importantly, he was devoted to his daughter.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday at Mill Dam Park, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. It was near the intersection of Wall Street and Pine Street.

Police and detectives flocked to the scene but ended the night without an arrest.

Dr. Ian Hood, the county medical examiner, performed an autopsy on Tuesday.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation with help from Mount Holly police.
