Mission Voice 5K At Strawbridge Lake In Moorestown Saturday

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Two local roads will be closed on Saturday when Mission Voice stages a 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk at Strawbridge Lake.

Haines Drive will be closed between South Church Street and Kings Highway, and Pleasant Valley Avenue will be closed between Kings Highway and Route 38 between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., Moorestown police announced.

Police officers will be on location assisting with traffic. Anyone driving in the area will be asked to slow down and watch for pedestrians.

The event is held to raise funds for special needs initiatives in South Jersey, including the Moorestown Parks and Recreation Department.

The Moorestown Recreation Department's programs benefit more than children and young adults with special needs in Moorestown and the surrounding communities.

These programs include Summer Camp, S.M.A.S.H (Social Meeting After School Hours), Challenger Baseball, Let's Dance, and Topsoccer.

Mission Voice, a nonprofit founded to help children with communication issues, became aware of these programs in 2019, and donated all proceeds from that year’s race to the program, according to township officials.
