MOORESTOWN, NJ — A Moorestown family that has a history of helping the community through their tractor trailer challenges is back at it, once again coming to the aid of those in need after a natural disaster.

This time, the DiPasquale Family will host a Tractor Trailer Challenge to help the victims of Hurricane Ida in the parking lot of the Moorestown Mall, 400 Route 38 in Moorestown, on Sept. 25 and 26.

The entire event is run by volunteers, most of which are teens, and their parents, according to Nancy DiPasquale. Bohren's Moving Company donated the tractor-trailer, driver, and transport of the goods to Louisiana; and the Moorestown Mall donated the use of their location for the event.

The donated supplies will be delivered directly to Houma, Louisiana, where residents are desperately struggling for weeks without power, food, supplies, and clean water, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Money will not be accepted as a donation. The following relief supplies will be accepted:

This is the fourth Tractor-Trailer Challenge organized by the DiPasquale Family since 2012. The first challenge took place in Monmouth County, following Super Storm Sandy. The other two were in Moorestown, following Hurricane Irma in 2017, and Hurricane Florence in 2018.

In each instance, the residents rose to the challenge, filling the tractor-trailers with hurricane relief supplies.

The family of three has since formed a nonprofit organization, Local Acts of Kindness Foundation, offering additional town challenges and programs encouraging kindness among neighbors near and far.
