Moorestown Ice Hockey Wraps Up Successful Season
The varsity and junior varsity squads both had banner seasons, while a group of alumni took a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
The Moorestown Ice Hockey Club wrapped up a very successful season, with varsity finishing with an impressive 19-2-1 record.
Two players were recognized by the South Jersey High School Hockey League (SJHSHL). Senior Will Sulpuzio was named Tier 1 Player of the Year, while senior Vada Mangum was named Tier 1 Goalie of the Year. In addition, coach Vince Ridge was named Coach of the Year by the SJHSHL. Rounding out the seniors, and contributing to the success of the team, are Jeff Briggs, Dylan Chesney, Luke Stewart, Brett Woyshner and Jason Witkowski.
Seniors David Humes, Jackson Schlesinger and A.J. Maryasz were a strong force on the junior varsity squad this season and we congratulate the entire JV squad on a successful season. We had three middle school squads this year. Our youngest and newest players made up the Middle School C team. While they are called the Middle School C team, this team was comprised of many fourth and fifth graders and they are off to a great start.

Middle School A and Middle School B both made it to their championship games. While neither team won their finals, we are proud of their efforts. With such an impressive list of underclassmen and middle school players, we are confident about the future success of the club.
Moorestown Ice Hockey alumni Chaz Briggs, Ben Doganiero, Bryan Rudolph, Ben Smith and Ty Woyshner recently participated in the 2013 U.S. Pond Hockey Championships on Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, MN. The boys went 3 and 1 on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. You can read about their journey via their blog: http://njrinkrats.blogspot.com/.
