Moorestown Resident Voices Support Ahead Of Special Election
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Monique Begg writes she can only rely on candidates' written responses to make her choice.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The coronavirus pandemic has prevented some residents from meeting local political candidates who are running for election in November. In Moorestown, Monique Begg has never met Quinton Law or Vick Bobadilla, who are running in a special election for a council seat Nov. 2.
Begg writes that she has relied on what Law and Bobadilla have written about themselves in response to questions posed to them to help her make her decision. Her letter to the editor can be found below.

I never cast a vote without first studying the candidates and the issues. As we approach New Jersey’s upcoming election, including Moorestown Council special election, I ask myself: Will I vote for Quinton Law or for Vick Bobadilla?
Because of virus contagion concerns, I don’t know Mr. Bobadilla, nor have I seen Mr. Law in action, as an appointed member of Moorestown Council. Thus, I rely on both candidates’ written answers to questions published for public consumption. I now know that both men are involved in community service and want to give back to the community.

A widower, Mr. Bobadilla is a businessperson with four grown children, while Mr. Law is a 24-year-old single Black man who works with U.S. Senator Cory Booker.
Mr. Bobadilla says, under the Democrats, our taxes are too high and too many businesses have been lost. He says he will focus much of his efforts on lowering taxes and bringing in new businesses.
I ask: What service would he cut? Why doesn’t he mention the plans Moorestown Council has adopted to bring in microbreweries and distilleries in town, as well a health-care facility at the Moorestown Mall?
Mr. Law, who grew up in Moorestown, offers a fresh approach to governing and is committed to the people of Moorestown. He wrote, “I’m responsible to the voters of Moorestown-not my party.”
Quinton Law has my vote.
