Why are you running for school board?

Over time, I’ve observed a growing disconnect between board leadership and its core mission. That division is concerning, and it’s one of the key reasons I’ve decided to step forward. I am a trained leader with a natural ability to bring people together, not just to discuss challenges, but to create real, actionable solutions.

I welcome feedback without bias and believe in implementing policies that uplift and benefit our entire population. Fiscal responsibility is a priority for me, and I am not afraid to think creatively when it comes to solving difficult problems. I believe that leadership means being willing to take on tough conversations, ask the hard questions, and act in the best interest of the whole community.

If elected, I will work to restore unity, prioritize student and staff safety, and increase transparency at all levels. My goal is to help build a board that reflects the needs and values of our community — today, tomorrow, and always.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

What truly sets me apart is my unwavering fairness and objectivity. I do not let personal feelings or opinions influence my decisions. I remain focused on what is right for the community, the children, and their families — always.

My professional life has been dedicated to helping others. I take pride in working hard not for recognition, but for the positive outcomes I help create. Seeing a solution come to life and knowing I contributed to it is all the reward I need.

Collaboration is something I deeply value. I find great joy in people coming together, setting aside differences, and working toward a common goal. To me, there’s no greater feeling than seeing a community united and thriving.

Ultimately, I find happiness in the success and well-being of others. That mindset drives every action I take and is at the heart of why I want to serve on the Board of Education.

What past accomplishments or experiences make you qualified for this position?

Leadership has been a part of my life since middle school, and I’ve continued to take on key roles throughout my academic and professional career. Currently, I serve in multiple leadership positions within the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA), including delegate, vice president of administrative affairs, and secretary. I also contribute nationally through my work with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, serving on both the Committee on Membership and the Committee on Pediatric Anesthesiology.

These positions are not just titles — they are platforms that help shape the future of medicine. Through this work, I help develop policy, promote patient safety, and advance medical practices to ensure the highest standard of anesthesia care for patients of all ages.

In my clinical practice, I serve as the Medical Director of Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesiology. I founded this division from the ground up and have led it to become one of the most comprehensive and well-respected pediatric acute pain programs in the region. The division focuses on delivering effective pain management while minimizing the use of opioids—an essential goal given the devastating impact of the opioid crisis on children and families.

As a pediatric anesthesiologist, I make critical, life-saving decisions every day—whether in elective procedures, emergencies, or trauma cases. I also proudly serve as an Associate Professor at Drexel University, helping educate and mentor the next generation of physicians.

My career has been dedicated to service, safety, innovation, and leadership — qualities I will bring to the Board of Education to help shape a better future for our children, families, and communities.

If elected, what will be your top priorities during your elected term?

1. Launch a Community Wellness Hotline

I will work to establish a confidential wellness hotline, open to all—students, parents, staff, and community members. Whether anonymous or not, this line will provide a safe space to voice concerns, observations, or suggestions without fear of judgment or retaliation. Our children and families deserve to be heard and supported.

2. Identify Fiscally Responsible Funding Solutions

I will explore innovative, cost-effective ways to secure funding for school programs and initiatives—without placing additional burdens on taxpayers. Financial stewardship is critical to maintaining quality education while protecting our community’s economic well-being.

3. Evaluate Program Strengths and Gaps

I will take a close look at both mainstream and specialized programs—including gifted and talented, as well as special education services—to understand their strengths and identify areas for improvement. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, no matter their learning style or needs.

4. Promote Unified, Collaborative Board Communication

I will work with fellow board members to foster open, lawful, and respectful communication across all committees. A unified board—where all voices are heard and respected—is essential for making decisions that truly reflect the needs of the entire community.

At the heart of all these efforts is a single, unwavering priority: our children. I am committed to listening to the community, communicating openly, and always putting students first.
