I am seeking re-election to the Board of Education to continue advocating for our children and ensuring that every student reaches their full potential through a well-rounded public school education. Having served three years on the board, with our eldest child graduating in 2017 and three children currently attending different schools within the district, I bring a unique perspective grounded in firsthand experience of what has worked well and where opportunities for growth remain. While our program of studies provides a strong academic foundation, a truly comprehensive education extends beyond the desks in our classrooms. Experiential learning, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities play a vital role in fostering the growth, confidence, and development of each individual student. I believe in cultivating a learning environment that prioritizes critical thinking, creativity, and innovation. Innovative progress doesn’t always require starting from scratch. Often, it means building upon the strong framework that already exists to drive efficiency, support creative initiatives, and pursue continuous improvement.

If re-elected, I will continue asking thoughtful questions to ensure clarity and transparency in the board’s decision-making process. I remain committed to using our tax dollars responsibly to provide the resources, opportunities, and skills that prepare our children to thrive in the future. Every board decision must be made thoughtfully, with clear purpose, and — above all — putting our students first.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

With a professional background in engineering, I bring a systematic, detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving skills. I develop, analyze, and certify structural repairs for military aircraft, which require me to evaluate risk, ask critical questions, and make informed, thoughtful decisions. Beyond my technical expertise, I bring valuable experience as a current board member. I understand the dedication required to serve effectively, and my track record reflects that commitment and capability. As our district grows and undertakes capital improvement projects, I bring the qualifications and commitment necessary to provide diligent, responsible oversight of expenditures, strategic planning, and project execution.

What past accomplishments or experiences make you qualified for this position?

Having served on the board for the past three years, I have developed a deep understanding of the role and what is required to achieve our district’s goals. Over the past two years, I have chaired the Curriculum Committee, where I have championed transparency in our Program of Studies. This included introducing Scope and Sequence documents, which outline key concepts and learning objectives, and implementing opt-out forms, which give families the flexibility to exempt their children from specific topics based on religious or personal beliefs.

In addition, I have spent two years on the Finance and Operations Committee, gaining valuable insight into budget allocations and district spending to ensure responsible and transparent use of funds.

I have served on two Contract Negotiations Committees, one for district administrators and another as chair of the committee that finalized the teachers’ union contract. Working collaboratively with MEA leadership, we reached an agreement well before the prior contract expired. This collective bargaining process resulted in a contract that both recognized and rewarded our staff’s value and ensured the district’s longterm financial stability through the addition of a new step on the salary guide.

As board vice president, I remain committed to ongoing communication with township leadership and am eager to continue these collaborative efforts to advocate for our students. I am a natural leader who believes that integrity, clear communication, and shared vision are key to building a strong, unified team. My record demonstrates a deep commitment to our district, and my experience provides a solid foundation to build upon moving forward.

If elected, what will be your top priorities during your elected term?

One of the most important responsibilities of the board is selecting and hiring the superintendent. As a board member who participated in hiring our current superintendent, Dr. Courtney McNeely, supporting her remains a top priority for my second term. I am committed to maintaining open and frequent communication with Dr. McNeely while sharing the historical background that reflects our community’s values.

The board’s role is to ensure the district operates effectively by adopting clear, common-sense policies that can be implemented with fidelity. Additionally, we must develop a budget that meets student needs, complies with state regulations, and allows for efficient resource allocation — while remaining flexible to adapt quickly when challenges arise.

With my experience, knowledge, and dedication, I am well-equipped to support the superintendent, enact sensible policies, and oversee our budget responsibly. I am proud of the work I have accomplished and the progress the district has made. I look forward to continuing this important work if elected to a second term.
