Moorestown Outdoor Concert Canceled Due To Predicted Thunderstorms

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown's summer concert has been canceled because of Monday evening's predicted storms.

Showers and thunderstorms could enter the region Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). With rain expected throughout the next few days, some of the storms could get heavy and lead to flash flooding, according to the NWS's Mount Holly Office, which monitors most of New Jersey.

Moorestown's Summer Concerts, which feature a children's show followed by a headliner, begin at 6:30 p.m. Mondays on the Community House lawn (16 E Main St.). Here's the seasonal lineup.

The concert series is set to resume July 29.

Here's the NWS's latest forecast for Moorestown:

• Monday afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Monday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Patchy fog between midnight and 1 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
