Driver Critical, Officer Burned In Fiery Crash And Rescue In Burlington Co.
The driver, whose vehicle overturned, is in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.
MOUNT HOLLY, NJ — A driver was critically injured after their car flipped over and caught fire in a crash Tuesday night in Mount Holly. A police officer who rescued them was also hurt.
Two vehicles crashed around 9:45 p.m., according to NBC Philadelphia. One of them overturned and caught fire after the collision at the intersection of Route 38 and the South Avenue extension, officials said.
First responders rescued the driver from the overturned vehicle. They were flown to a trauma center, and they remain in critical condition as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Mount Holly Police Cpt. Clifford Spencer.

A Mount Holly police officer was burned on both hands during the rescue and has received treatment.
The driver of the second vehicle was evaluated at the hospital.

Police have not disclosed the circumstances of the crash of the identities of anyone involved.
Route 38 was closed for several hours.
