Police Arrest Two for Supermarket Purse Snatching
Also, Maple Shade Police investigate a late-night break-in at an East Germantown Avenue home.

March 14
Burglary, 11:46 p.m. — Police said an unidentified man kicked in an East Germantown Avenue resident’s back door while she was watching television. According to a report, the homeowner heard bangs at her door, then was confronted by the intruder standing in the doorway of the room she was watching TV in. The suspect immediately fled, police said. Nothing was stolen, and the victim was not harmed. Police described the suspect as a white male, approx 15 to 16 years old, 5 feet 3 inches, pale complexion, thin build, short brown hair, wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans. March 16
Burglary, 7:02 a.m. — Police said someone cut the padlock to a trailer at the construction site for the new CVS on Route 73 and stole lighting fixtures worth approximately $3,000.
Arrest (outstanding warrant), 2:55 a.m. — Police arrested Kerri A. Paterno, 36, of Maple Shade, after she and a male pedestrian were stopped while crossing Route 73. Police discovered Paterno was wanted by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department and arrested her on that warrant, according to a report. She was also found to be in possession of a prescription drug, not in a prescription bottle, and drug paraphernalia. A summons was issued for those two charges and she was sent to the Corrections and Work Release Center in Pemberton on the sheriff’s department warrant.
March 17
Arrest (theft) — Police arrested Lauren A. Graziano, 25, and Daniel R. Bell, 28, both of Maple Shade, in connection with a purse snatching at the Acme on Main Street. According to police, a 93-year-old woman was shopping at the supermarket when a woman grabbed the victim’s purse from her shopping cart, fled across Lippincott Avenue to the rear parking lot of Montegrillo’s Restaurant, and climbed into a waiting green and white pickup truck. After witnesses gave police descriptions of the female suspect and the getaway truck, a Maple Shade detective responded to the Camden area, believing the suspects would immediately use the proceeds from the theft to buy drugs, according to a report. Police promptly located the truck and stopped it in the lot of the Pub Restaurant in Pennsauken as it was leaving Camden, taking Graziano and Bell into custody. Both were charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft and sent to jail on $40,000 bail each, police said. In addition, Graziano was charged with possession of heroin.

Vehicle theft, 10:28 a.m. — A 2011 black and white Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle, NJ tag 1WWH8, was stolen from Marigold Drive, police said.
