Police Investigate Messy Case of Vehicle Vandalism
Also, Mount Laurel Police say more than $7,000 in jewelry and cash was stolen from a Holiday Village East home and a pricey purse was swiped from a car.

April 19
Theft (Saratoga Farms) — Someone stole a bicycle, valued at $175, from an unlocked garage on the 100 block of Preakness Drive approximately two weeks ago, at an undetermined date and time, according to police.

Theft from vehicle (Stonegate) — Police said $15 in cash was stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle parked on the unit block of Bloomfield Court sometime between 8 p.m. April 18 and 9 a.m. April 19.
Arrest (fraud) — Police arrested Darrell T. Hall, 24, of the 500 block of Park Avenue, Brooklyn, for the fraudulent use of $200 in American Express Travelers Cheques at the TJ Maxx on Centerton Road on Jan. 17, according to a report. Hall was charged with theft by deception and forgery. He was served with criminal complaints while incarcerated at the Bergen County Jail, police said. Bail was set at $5,000.

Theft, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — An undetermined amount of savings bonds were stolen from the 300 block of Hartford Road, police said. There was no sign of forced entry.
Theft, 4 p.m. — A Kindle Fire HD, valued at $300, was stolen from a bathroom at TRG on Briggs Road when it was left unattended, police said.
Burglary (Holiday Village East), 7:20-11:30 p.m. — More than $7,000 worth of jewelry and cash was stolen from a home on the 100 block of Indigo Drive, police said. Police are not sure how the burglar entered the residence.
April 21
Arrest (DWI), 2:15 a.m. — Police arrested Joshua K. Costello, 42, of the unit block of Biddle Way, after he was stopped on Elbo Lane, according to a report. Costello was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Criminal mischief, 8-8:20 p.m. — Someone deliberately scratched the hood and front quarter panels of a vehicle parked at the Red Roof Inn, causing an estimated $500 damage, police said.
April 22
Theft — A thief stole two sewing machines, valued at $900, from Jo-Ann Fabrics on Centerton Road sometime between 6 p.m. April 19 and 9 a.m. April 22, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry to the building.
April 23
Computer criminal activity — Police said someone used a township resident’s debit card to fraudulently make four unauthorized purchases, totaling more than $110. The incident occurred between 9:56 a.m. April 22 and 8 a.m. April 23.
Stolen vehicle (Larchmont Place), 8:30-11:30 a.m. — Police said someone stole a 1993 Honda Civic, valued at $2,000, from the parking lot of the 1500 block of Larchmont Place.
Theft (Laurel Place) — Police said $60 worth of plant pots were stolen from the front porch of a residence on the 1400 block of Sedgefield Drive. The incident occurred between 8 p.m. April 22 and 8 a.m. April 23.
Arrest (under the influence of CDS) — Police arrested Daniel Gold, 18, of the 200 block of Starboard Way, for being under the influence of marijuana, according to a report. Gold was involved in a police investigation for an unrelated matter and found to be under the influence of marijuana, police said. He was charged and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Theft — Someone cashed three fraudulent checks, totaling approximately $5,000, under the name of BMW of Mount Laurel, police said. The incident occurred between March 6 and 11.
April 24
Criminal mischief, 7:30 a.m. — Trash was thrown in a vehicle on the 2800 block of Heatherstone Court, causing an estimated $300 damage, police said.
Theft, 8:15-8:30 a.m. — A purse and its contents, valued at more than $1,000, was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of 2050 Briggs Road, police said.
