Police: Man Chases Down Would-Be Burglar

Arson — Police said someone set a fire in the bed of a pickup truck parked on Emerson Drive. The bed liner and tonneau cover were damaged. The owner had extinguished the fire and had not called the fire company, police said.
March 24
Criminal mischief, 3:30 a.m. — A resident of the 300 block of North Coles Avenue arrived home early in the morning to find a man climbing the side of his house and trying to get in a window, police said. The resident chased the suspect toward Woodlawn Avenue, grabbed him by the shirt and threw him to the ground. The suspect got back up and ran down Melrose Avenue, according to police. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches, with a thin build, wearing an oversized black T-shirt and black work pants.
