Rowan University Hosts Hybrid Event For MLK Day Of Service

Rowan University hosts a scholarship breakfast and a Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 17.

Rowan University will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an event that will be held both virtually and in-person.

The day begins with a scholarship breakfast and remarks from Master of Ceremonies, Rick Williams, and Keynote Speaker, Tiffany D. Cross. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. for the event that begins at 9 a.m.

The traditional Martin Luther King Day of Service follows at 11 a.m., with volunteer check-in set for 10:30 a.m. For more information about the service opportunities, click here.

Guests are welcome to bring donations for Rowan’s Food Pantry and Resource Center, known as The SHOP. The Shop is collecting non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, school supplies and more for students in need. Click here for a full list of items that are needed at The Shop.

Tickets are $75, and $600 for a table of eight. Tickets for the virtual event are $25. Currently enrolled students can participate for free. Volunteer only tickets are also available. All proceeds support the William H. Myers Memorial Scholarships.

To purchase tickets via payroll deduction, contact Marc Robb, Director of Advancement Services at 856-256-4546. To register for the event, click here. Registrations will be accepted through Wednesday. Martin Luther King Day is Jan. 17.

Masks are required at all in-person activities, and an online health assessment must be completed prior to the event.
