Services Set For Navy Vet Who Was Active In Moorestown Community

Edward J. Smith passed away on Dec. 30, 2021, at the age of 91. Edward, formerly from Mt. Laurel and Hainesport, resided at the Residence of Voorhees.

He served in the US Navy from 1948 until 1953. After his discharge from the Navy he attended LaSalle College and received his Bachelor’s degree and went to work for RCA, now Lockheed Martin, where he worked for many years before his retirement. Edward was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Moorestown.

Husband of Fredericka “Ricky” (nee Schuckle). Father of Douglas Smith, Victoria Wistner, Mark (Anna) Smith and Valerie (Edward) Henry. Also survived by 14 Grandchildren, Colin, Kevin, Kelly, Dennis, Douglas, Theresa, Brian, Rachael, Katheryn, Natalie, Stefan, Marissa, Meghan and Loren and 2 Great Grandchildren, Mia and Anthony.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the First United Methodist Church, 446 Camden Ave., Moorestown, NJ. Viewing is Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Church. Entombment is at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
