Morris Plains Man Admits Nudity Around Girls

A Morris Plains man faces three years in prison after admitting to "jumping up and down naked" in front of two girls.
James M. Scott, 42, of Morris Plains pleaded guilty Monday to a third-degree endangering the welfare of a child charge, according to Gloucester County Senior Assistant Prosecutor Audrey Curwin.
Scott was naked in front of two girls, ages 9 and 10, in 2008 at his then-East Greenwich (Gloucester County) home.

One of the victims came forward in 2012, after Scott had already moved from East Greenwich. Scott was indicted Jan. 16 on the charge.
Curwin said Scott on Monday asked Superior Court Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr., "Is my face going to be put, like, on a wall of shame?"

The senior prosecutor said in a release that the Gloucester Prosecutor's Office will recommend Megan's Law registration, which would place Scott on the state sex offender registry, as well as three years in prison when he's sentenced.
Scott will be evaluated at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel before being sentenced by Marshall.
