Morris Plains Schools to Accept $7,800 in Donations

The Morris Plains Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday.

Several school staff and faculty will be approved at this meeting, mostly classroom aides. Also, several systems and software will be renewed as well.

Other agenda items that will be approved include professional development, tax payment schedule, anti-bullying report, field trips and more.

Donations will be accepted from the following organizations and companies:

• Stop & Shop A+ School Reward Program gave $989.99 for Mountain Way and $1,297.12 for Borough School
• Morris County Improvement Authority – Borough Slam Dunk the Junk grant program gave $500 to the district
• People’s Education gave a $5,000 book donation to both schools

The district is also looking to submit the No Child Left Behind Grant and to accept No Child Left Behind funds in the following amounts:

• Title I: $6,436
• Title IIA: $14,257
• Title III: $3,606

A new business agenda item looks at internet safety and technology. 

Have health questions? Stop by the Morris Plains Community Center on Monday between 1 – 3 p.m. the public health nurse will be available to provide blood pressure screenings, basic health information, referrals to health-related services, and to answer general questions.
