1 Killed, 1 Injured In Head-On Morris County Crash: Police
A wrong-way crash in Morris County claimed one life and left another person critically injured early Sunday morning.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — One person was killed and another severely injured in a head-on crash in Morris County this weekend, according to authorities.
The crash occurred early Sunday morning on westbound Interstate 80 at milepost 36.2 in Rockaway Township, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson told Patch.
Investigators said a Mercedes SUV was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-80 and collided head-on with a Ford pickup truck going west.

The driver of the Mercedes SUV, 45-year-old Victor Peters of Parsippany-Troy Hills, was seriously injured in the collision and rushed to a local hospital, police said. The driver of the Ford pickup truck, 31-year-old Destinn McKnight of East Stroudsburg, PA, was found with fatal injuries, authorities added.
The crash remains under official investigation, and no further information is currently available, police said.
