2 Dogs Abandoned In Freezing Cold In Morris County
"Please know the dogs are being well cared for and are safe," Mount Olive Police said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Abandoned dogs were found in the freezing cold in Morris County this past weekend.
According to officials, two pit bull mixes were found outside in a crate on the corner of Goldmine Road and Tanglewood Way in Mount Olive.
According to officials, the dogs were left in a cage with a blanket covering them so no one could see them. The crate also had no food or water in it.

Brian Magrini, a Mount Olive resident who posted a photo of the dogs to a Hopatcong Community Facebook group, said that on Sunday morning he saw his neighbor standing outside his car next to a dog crate on the sidewalk in the 12-degree weather.
"Someone had abandoned these two beautiful, freezing, cold, shivering, scared dogs which were standing in their own poop," Magrini told Patch. "It was honestly one of the saddest things I have ever seen. The looks in the dog's eyes were heartbreaking."

Magrini says the police were contacted and the two dogs were picked up.
"After the police left, I decided to look and see who had any doorbell cameras. Fortunately, the house across the street did and I knocked on the door and asked the owner if I could look at his history after telling him about what just happened. So just before 9:07, there was no sign of a crate. At 9:07 you see the car and once the car leaves, we now have a crate. Unfortunately, the image is very poor quality but at least we know it’s a black 4-door midsize SUV," Magrini said.
Mount Olive Police said that its Humane Law Enforcement Officers are actively investigating the matter and would update the community as the investigation progresses.
"Please know the dogs are being well cared for and are safe," police said.
Mount Olive Animal Control officers had no update on the investigation as of Wednesday.
Common Sense For Animals, an animal shelter in Franklin Township, is housing the two dogs in their facility until they are ready to be adopted.
