Morristown Nonprofit, Restaurant Partner For Student Holiday Celebration

A graduate intern facilitated a holiday celebration for Morristown High School students through a community partnership.

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Positive Pathways Counseling, a Morristown-based nonprofit, recently hosted a holiday celebration for its students at Morristown High School. The event, held on Dec. 23, 2025, involved a partnership between the organization and South + Pine, a local restaurant.

The celebration brought together 70 students from Positive Pathways for a festive end-of-year gathering. Food for the event was donated by South + Pine, located on South Street. Sarah Ribaudo, a graduate student in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and an intern with Positive Pathways, helped coordinate the event.

Ribaudo, who also works at South + Pine, organized the food donation and helped arrange activities for the students during the holiday season.

“This celebration helped our students feel seen, supported, and valued,” said Marlene Scirvo, Director of Positive Pathways Counseling. “We could not have done this without Sarah’s compassion and initiative, and the generosity of South + Pine.”

This holiday celebration follows other community collaborations led by Ribaudo. During Morristown’s Fall Festival, she worked with South + Pine to offer non-alcoholic drinks, raising over $270 for Positive Pathways’ snack cabinet at Morristown High School. Ribaudo also helped restart the Positive Pathways boys’ soccer group alongside Jeff Macko, founder of the original Boys’ Group.

The soccer program meets during and after school, focusing on peer relationships, life skills, and future planning. It includes guest speakers and facilitated discussions to support students both on and off the field. Scirvo confirmed that Ribaudo has built strong relationships with students, who seek her out during the school day, and that her work reflects the core mission of Positive Pathways.

Sam Aboudara, a board member of Positive Pathways Counseling, stated that this partnership demonstrates the positive impact when local businesses and young professionals invest in their community. Aboudara added that it reflects the best aspects of Morristown.

Positive Pathways Counseling offers free individual, group, and family counseling services to local teens, working within schools and the community to support students’ resilience and mental health.
