The annual fall festivities will once again take place this weekend at Chubb Park on Route 24.

CHESTER, NJ — Celebrate the start of fall with friends at the Chester Lions Club's Oktoberfest Weekend and Car Show.

The anticipated community event will take place on Sept. 23 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sept. 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. "Get ready to don your lederhosen and dirndls because the Chester Lions Club is once again hosting our exciting and family-friendly Oktoberfest Weekend to raise funds for a great cause," officials said.

Held at Chubb Park, 290 W Main Street in Chester, this fun-filled day will feature live music, quality beer, dancing and good food.

The food tent will serve authentic German foods such as bratwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut, smoked pork chops, apple strudel, delectable beehive cake, and authentic plum cake, among other items.

"Embrace the spirit of Oktoberfest with a fantastic selection of delicious craft beers and traditional German cuisine," officials said.

The Oktoberfest Car Show will also showcase an array of classic and modern vehicles, giving residents a chance to admire their beauty up close.

Oktoberfest Weekend is the Chester Lions Club's largest annual fundraiser.

In previous years, the net proceeds of the event have been donated to organizations such as Soldiers Angels, which supports our servicemen and women, and the Lions Eye Research Foundation, as well as local police and fire and rescue organizations.

Admission to the event is $7, with children under the age of 12 admitted for free.

Oktoberfest Weekend is held rain or shine, according to event organizers. The band, dance floor, and dining area are located under large event tents to shield you from the sun and rain.
