Calling all comedy fans: the Emmy Award-winning comedian and actor, Kevin James will be coming to the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown as part of his brand-new tour across America.

The popular stand-up comedian will perform his show in Morristown on May 19 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale for the performance at the Mayo Performing Arts Center website.

Saturday, May 20: Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown

Where in New Jersey can you get the best beer and barbecue? Barbecue enthusiasts can sample dishes at the Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown at Mennan Arena to find out for themselves.

Returning once again to the Morristown area is New Jersey's only festival, featuring all New Jersey craft beer, as well as restaurants, gourmet food trucks, and chefs serving a variety of BBQ and bacon creations for purchase.

More than 30 New Jersey breweries will attend, each bringing three styles of beer, one of which is a one-of-a-kind creation made specifically for the event.

Saturday, May 20: Morris Choral Society Celebrates 50th Anniversary

On Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m., the concert will be held at the Morristown United Methodist Church on the Green, 50 South Park Place.

The Morris Choral Society begins its 50th anniversary celebration with a performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, featuring the 60-voice chorus, the Young People's Chorus of New York City, three soloists, two pianos and seven percussionists.

Friday, May 19 – Saturday, May 20: The Folk Project’s Golden Jubilee

The Folk Project is celebrating its Golden Jubilee with a lineup of performers spanning the last 50 years, from its inception to the most recent crop of talented contributors. It's a musical legacy, and whether you're new to the community or have been a fan since the beginning, you'll enjoy this two-day musical immersion, officials said.

  • Friday Evening Concert: The celebration starts the evening of Friday, May 19 with a concert featuring The Robinson & Rohe Band and opening with songs by a dozen select member performers representing 50 years of member music.
  • Saturday Evening: The celebration ends Saturday evening with a concert featuring Frank Vignola with Vinnie Raniolo, and opening with a different dozen performing members, who also represent the entire history of this musical community.

Admission: $65 for all activities; $20 for the concerts only. The event takes place at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

Sunday, May 21: New Jersey Ballet Princess Aurora’s Wedding (From The Sleeping Beauty)

This weekend, an audience will be guided by a storyteller through the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, set to the score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with New Jersey Ballet dancers bringing the characters to life.
