5 Years In Jail For Morris Co. Man That Hoarded Child Porn: NJ AG

Officials say the man, an I.T. professional, had over 138,000 child porn files on his computer.

LONG HILL, NJ — A Long Hill man that admitted to having over 138,000 files of child porn has been sentenced to five years in state prison, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.

William G. Camargo, 49, will have to serve at least two years before being eligible for parole, Grewal said. He will also have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law and will be subject to parole supervision for life.

Camargo, an I.T. professional, admitted in June to having over 138,000 photo and video files of child pornography on his computer. He also shared the files through an online folder.

“The 138,000 files of child pornography found on this computer represent thousands of children who were tortured and sexually exploited to supply the demand for these vile materials, and who are perpetually re-victimized by the offenders who distribute their images on the internet,” said Grewal. “We are committed to protecting children by vigorously investigating and prosecuting these criminals.”

Carmargo was one of 79 arrested last September in a large-scale operation. The operation was lead by the New Jersey Regional Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force of the New Jersey State Police, and involved the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), all 21 County Prosecutors' Offices, and numerous local police departments.
