After 9 Months, Search Continues For Missing Morris Co. Dog 'Meep'
The Boston terrier rescue was last seen on Jan. 1 in Morristown. A $6,000 reward is being offered for her safe return.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morristown couple has gone more than nine months without seeing their beloved rescue dog Meep, who has been missing since New Year's Day.
The Boston terrier ran away from her owners' Budd Street home after a neighbor set off fireworks just after midnight on Jan. 1, and was last seen on Dorothy Drive. Meep may be limping, and has breathing issues. She requires daily medication and only eats a certain type of food, as her owner Summer Sheldrick said previously.
A $6,000 reward is being offered for Meep's safe return — with no questions asked. There is also a $1,500 reward for anonymous tips that lead to her return.

Sheldrick and her boyfriend Ryan Hitchcock rescued Meep from a puppy mill in February of 2023. In the weeks after Meep went missing, they posted thousands of flyers around Morristown — also hiring multiple search dogs, drone services, psychics, and rescue groups to try and find her.

Thousands of people have joined a Facebook group called "Bring Meep Home," and they light virtual candles at 7:30 p.m. every Monday. These members of "Meep's Army" also share encouragement for her owners, talk about possible sightings or leads, and discuss how to keep momentum going for the search.
Lately, there have been no major updates. Many people have sent in photos or submitted tips either on Facebook or through findmeep.com, but none of them have been the missing Meep.
Group members are also brainstorming how to spread the word about Meep around Morris County, and one person is working on a list of local veterinarians and shelters to contact to widen the scope.
Sheldrick told Patch in February that someone must have taken Meep, as there was "no trace of her" after the dog was last spotted on Dorothy Drive.

Anyone with information about Meep's location is asked to call 201-400-4397, or submit a tip online. Meep has been spayed, and is microchipped. So, if she is located, the microchip will confirm her identity.
You can also see photos of Meep here, which show her distinctive markings.
