Ash Tree Removal Closes Some Trails At Morristown Park Tuesday

The park commission said ash tree removal will resume at Loantaka Brook Reservation on Tuesday. The parking area will be closed.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Some trails will be closed on Tuesday at Loantaka Brook Reservation in Morristown, park officials said.

The park commission said ash tree removal will resume on Feb. 20, closing all trails between Kitchell Road and Loantaka Way. This is to control the population of the emerald ash borer, a beetle first detected in Morris County in 2017.

The parking lot on Loantaka Way will also be closed Tuesday, said the county park commission.
