Bail Lowered For Morristown Woman Accused of Sexual Contact With Student
Parsippany Hills High School teacher Jenna Leahey's bail was lowered from $100,000 to $50,000 by a Superior Court judge on Tuesday.

Bail for Parsippany Hills High School teacher Jenna Leahey was lowered in Superior Court Tuesday by request of her attorney, according to a report.
Leahey, a Morristown resident, was recently charged with criminal sexual contact for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student.
Her attorney, Alan Zegas, requested the lower bail, saying that Leahey “poses zero risk of flight,” nj.com reported.

The bail was lowered from $100,000 to $50,000. Leahey appeared in court via a video hookup from the Morris County jail.
As a bail condition, Leahey is not allowed to have contact with anyone younger than 18, Judge Mary Gibbons Whipple in Morristown said, according to the report.

Interim Parsippany-Troy Hills Superintendent John Fitzsimons said he is saddened by the incident but is not able to comment since it is a legal matter.
Leahey is scheduled to appear in court again on July 2, but First Assistant Prosecutor Meg Rodriguez said that date may be canceled because she may be taking the case directly to a grand jury for an indictment, the report said.
Leahey, 32, also was charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child in addition to two counts of the fourth-degree criminal sex act charge. If convicted, she faces a mandatory 20-year prison sentence.
