Beloved Morristown Festival On The Green Brings Fall Fun To Town
This year marks the return of the premier festival, which will provide a wide range of entertainment for locals of all ages.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — As the weather starts to turn fall-like, the Morristown Festival on the Green, a cherished neighborhood event, returns this weekend to bring in the autumn celebrations.
The annual Festival on the Green will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.
This year's event is projected to attract around 150 local businesses, restaurants and community organizations, offering a variety of attractions for people young and old, including live music, kid-friendly amusements, carnival games and a beer tent.

Since 1994, the festival, which takes place on the Morristown Green, has attracted more than 60,000 people of all ages from all over Northern New Jersey to enjoy non-stop entertainment for everyone on as many as three different stages.
The event will feature music throughout the afternoon at three locations: the Green, the main stage at the junction of Dehart and South streets, and the sound stage at the intersection of Dumont Place and Morris Street.

The main stage will feature the Heart of Gold Band from 1 to 5 p.m.
The concert on the Green will include classical favorites Stone Soup Symphony Orchestra from noon to 1:30 p.m. and Morris Plains Community Band—Swing Tones from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The TropyBand Orquesta will perform from 12:30 to 2 p.m., followed by Shorty Long & The Jersey Horns from 3 to 5 p.m. on the Sound Stage at Morris and Dumont Place.
The popular beer tent, compliments of sponsor Morristown Airport, will be located on Washington Street and will serve as a pit stop for music fans, football fans and cornhole fanatics. Visitors 21 and older will be able to purchase a choice of beers and White Claw cocktails, officials said.
Children and families with younger children will be able to enjoy carnival games on North Park Place and visit Kids Place on Speedwell Avenue. Activities will include an inflatable corn maze, double-lane slide, a 3-lane obstacle course and more.

Family-friendly entertainment is also new for 2023 and may be found within Kids Place. Miss Jolie Music will perform from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Polka Dot! will perform from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., Wallaby Tales will perform from 3 to 3:45 p.m., and The Original Music School will perform from 4 to 5 p.m.
"The event is a true testament to a community rich in national history and local pride," the Morristown Partnership said.
Where to park:
The following public lots are open and free during the event:
- Ann-Bank Garage Parking for Exhibitors entrance on Bank Street before safety closure at 10:30 a.m., access will be available to the general public via Ann Street at Schuyler Place during the event.
- Dalton Parking Garage entrance on Cattano Avenue
- DeHart Street Garage entrances on DeHart Street and Maple Avenue
- Free on-street parking
On-street meters will be reserved for ADA-access parking for festival patrons in between DeHart Street and Market Street.
Road detours and closures:
All on-street parking in the Green area will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
