Child Drowns In Morris County Creek, Police Say
The 8-year-old child was found face down in a creek near a Roxbury home, authorities said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A child drowned in a creek near a Morris County home on Wednesday, July 12, according to police.
Law enforcement responded to a call at 3:37 p.m. at a residence in Roxbury on a report of an 8-year-old boy found face down in a nearby creek.
After arriving, the Roxbury Township Police Department and paramedics attempted but failed to resuscitate the child. According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, the boy was taken to Dover's St. Clare's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While the investigation is still ongoing, the incident has been ruled not suspicious for the time being, Carroll said.
No further identifying information will be provided to protect the family's privacy.
